After six months, Alberta-based professional wrestling promotion, Real Canadian Wrestling (RCW), was back in Erskine for a “Hang ‘Em High” pro wrestling event. Not only will this project reduce the diesel use by millions of litres it may be the catalyst to introducing other forms of bio energy that could compliment the solar system. I have been experimenting with solar power for 10 plus years starting with six solar panels to supply power at my recreation property. Grade 10-12 students of Coronation School and Castor’s Gus Wetter School, along with the Grade 10 students of Wm E.Hay Stettler Secondary Campus attended a play titled Blood– A Story of Reconciliation, which captures the story of surviving through residential schools and moments in history that changed the traditional way of life for the Blackfoot people. The Cowichan Consort Orchestra and Choir are holding their last concert of the season on May 4 in Duncan. This last concert of their 32nd season is all about nature, said organizers. From modern day Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo’s ‘Sunrise Mass’ to opera favourites, and from a Gaelic lullaby to Canadian Loreena McKennitt’s famous ‘Tango to Evora’ from her Juno award winning album The Visit, are some of the works you will also recognize from movie sound tracks and popular operas.
