Unknown injuries after car flips on Highway 97 in Lake Country
The state of those involved in a crash that saw a vehicle upside-down on Highway 97 near Crystal Waters Road in Lake Country is unknown at this time. In a video posted to social media, a red vehicle can been seen sitting on its roof with the airbags deployed. The cause of the crash is also unknown. The crash happened around 1 p.m. Sunday, May 5. It has since been cleared. The story will be updated when more information is available. Okanagan athletes assist Canada to gold at hockey world championships
Team Canada beat Team U.S.A. in the finals of the U18 Men’s Hockey World Championships Two Central Okanagan hockey players are returning home from the U18 World Championships in Finland with gold medals. Lake Country’s Tij Iginla and Kelowna’s Ryder Ritchie assisted in Team Canada’s win in the finals against Team U.S.A. The Americans hit the scoreboard first with a single goal in the first period. Ritchie tied things up 1-1 for Team Canada early in the second and Iginla assisted on a goal by Gavin McKenna to close the period at 2-2.
