While final details of funding for provincial sexual assault centres have yet to be worked out, local organizations say that the funds will go a long way in expanding services in the Stettler region. Some residents in Stettler will be getting a permanent change of address. Canada Post has announced plans to retire town postal codes T0C 2L1 and T0C 2L2 effective May 13. After six months, Alberta-based professional wrestling promotion, Real Canadian Wrestling (RCW), was back in Erskine for a “Hang ‘Em High” pro wrestling event. Coronation Hospital emergency department to be closed for over 24 hours

The Coronation Hospital emergency department will be closed for 26 hours beginning on May 1 due to a cited “gap” in physician coverage. Beginning at 6 a.m. on May 1, the closure will run until 8 a.m. on May 2. The release announcing the closure states that nursing staff will remain on-site to provide first-aid and triage as necessary for anyone who walks in.
