Stettler-based sexual assault group responds to funding announcement
While final details of funding for provincial sexual assault centres have yet to be worked out, local organizations say that the funds will go a long way in expanding services in the Stettler region. On April 30, the Government of Alberta announced an additional $10 million in funding over three years to support the province’s 15 sexual assault centres. Village of Halkirk to see 2023 audit expenses double: Mayor
Halkirk’s new administration and council are getting things in the community “settled down” but there are still some hurdles ahead, according to Mayor Jan Koenraadt. The first hurdle the village needs to cross is the 2023 audit. ‘New Blood’ Dance Movement brings Stettler community a glimpse of Blackfoot history
Grade 10-12 students of Coronation School and Castor’s Gus Wetter School, along with the Grade 10 students of Wm E.Hay Stettler Secondary Campus attended a play titled Blood– A Story of Reconciliation, which captures the story of surviving through residential schools and moments in history that changed the traditional way of life for the Blackfoot people. Some Stettler Residents to receive new postal codes
Some residents in Stettler will be getting a permanent change of address. Canada Post has announced plans to retire town postal codes T0C 2L1 and T0C 2L2 effective May 13.
