So it was July 4th, and I was working a 24 hour shift at the hospital. While I work this shift, my husband is on full duty during that time. Lena is a rambunctious 2 year old and gets into everything. She also went through a considerable length of time where she liked to put pretty much anything into her mouth… crayons, sidewalk chalk, random food bits from the floor, toys, beads, rocks, sand, etc.  Over the months many many toy accessories had to be removed from their toy collection and put in a box in the top shelf of our kitchen .. and the box was getting full.  We found it...…So it was July 4th, and I was working a 24 hour shift at the hospital. I have now purchased 4 mattresses for my 2 girls and I agonized over the purchase of each one. Seriously…. hours upon hours in front of a computer screen comparing mattresses and reviews. I knew without a doubt I wanted as chemical free as possible. I am a mom terrified of SIDS. I had every breathing, video baby monitor I could buy at the time, and through their false alarms and all: I couldn’t relax without them.
