Chad Daybell arrested, booked into jail - East Idaho News
Chad Daybell was booked into the Fremont County Jail at 5:21 p.m., according to online records. He was arrested for destruction or concealment of evidence. Mark Means, Daybell’s attorney, declined to comment on the arrest. EastIdahoNews.com has requested Daybell’s mugshot from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office. IDAHO FALLS — A Rexburg man will spend at least two years in prison after raping a pre-teen girl while camping at Palisades Reservoir in 2018. Stetson Tyler Perry, 26, was ordered to spend two to 17 years in prison by District Judge Dane H. Watkins after pleading guilty to the rape of a 12-year-old girl. According to court records, Perry was initially charged with lewd conduct with a minor, but Perry opted to take an Alford Plea for rape in January rather than take the case to trial. Firefighters deal with lightning-caused wildfires in eastern Idaho - East Idaho News
IDAHO FALLS — Lightning strikes throughout eastern Idaho resulted in several small wildfires Saturday. The Samaria Fire ignited six miles south of Malad, and grew to about 230 acres by late Saturday night. The fire is moving south through sagebrush and slowly backing into Mine Canyon. At this time no structures are threatened. The Chandler Fire is nine miles west of Pingree. It got up to 251 acres Saturday afternoon, but stopped growing after crews finished a dozer line around the fire. Crews are mopping up hotspots. ST. ANTHONY — The jury trials for Chad and Lori Daybell will be combined following a ruling by District Judge Steven Boyce Thursday morning. Rigby and Idaho Falls police officers have canvased the area near the last known location of Becky Ann Tracy near Utah and Broadway in Idaho Falls. Officers on foot were unable to locate any evidence of Tracy or her vehicle. Authorities are now asking for the public in Rigby and Idaho Falls to review and submit surveillance footage that might show evidence of Tracy. Radios with failing batteries, incompatible systems and outdated electronics have been an issue for local firefighters, Idaho Falls Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon said.
