Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced that he will be pausing any further phases to open the state as he responds to the recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. Currently, the state is in Stage 3 of the governor's reopening plan. (Travis County Sheriff's Office) The smell of natural gas has led to the arrest of an Austin woman.  At approximately 6 p.m. on May 26, deputies with the Travis County Sheriff's Office responded to assist the Austin Fire Department with a 911 call about a reported smell of natural gas in an apartment in the 1900 block of Wells Branch Parkway.  According to police, AFD advised officers that a person was running from the apartment.  It was determined that the source of the odor was a vehicle gas tank found inside of the apartment. Three members of an anti-government group have been arrested for looting, burglary, and property damage at a Target store in Austin on May 31.  According to the Travis County Districts Attorney Office, the arrests come as part of an ongoing investigation involving the attorney's office, Austin Police Department, and the FBI.
