Kaslo mayor joins Columbia Basin Trust board
Submitted by the Columbia Basin Trust Kaslo Mayor Suzan Hewat is joining the board of directors of Columbia Basin Trust, becoming part of the 12-member board which helps ensure that the organization continues to support the efforts of the people in the Columbia Basin. Six-vehicle collision closes Castlegar’s Kinnaird Bridge, sends four to hospital
A six-vehicle collision on Castlegar’s Kinnaird Bridge sent four people to hospital and closed Highway 3 for about seven hours Friday afternoon. The Castlegar Fire Department, RCMP, BC Ambulance and KERPA (Kootenay Emergency Response Physicians Association) all responded to the incident that began around 2:15 p.m. Fire Chief Sam Lattanzio reports that six vehicles were involved, each one with one occupant. There was also a dog in one of the vehicles. Four people were transported to hospital via ambulance with undetermined injuries, according to Lattanzio. HUGS AND SLUGS: When is it really closing time?
HUGS: Many thanks and hugs to R. and S. These two Nelson women combined agility and smarts in ‘rescuing’ a briefcase that had tumbled from the rooftop my car on to Gyro Park Road. You know the logistics! HUGS: A huge hug to the nurses who took such good care of my husband in his last days. Thank you. SLUGS: To the dog walker on Selby Street who leaves poop bags in Prince Philip Park and on the street next to driveways. SLUGS: To the local coffee shop that told (not asked) three of us to leave just at closing time in order to sweep the floor. It was 4 p.m. on a Saturday.
