Grassroots effort to save historic piano bar in Oakland at brink of closure
KTVU's Elissa Harrington reports. A historic piano bar in Oakland was on the verge of closing for good until A GoFundMe was launched by some loyal regulars. The Alley Piano Bar & Restaurant, located in the Grand Lake neighborhood has been around since the 1930s. But in March, it was forced to close its doors, and the owner doesn’t know when it will finally be safe to reopen. Its unique interior includes wallpaper made of business cards. 7 hospitalized, including 4 CHP officers, after possible fentanyl exposure
Seven people, including four California Highway Patrol officers, were rushed to the hospital Sunday after possibly being exposed to the powerful opioid fentanyl. Officials responded Sunday morning to a report of a possible DUI driver on the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge, according to Andrew Barclay with the California Highway Patrol. He said the vehicle had crashed by the time officers were on the scene. Frustrated protesters outside Fremont Tesla factory want to see CEO Musk put behind bars
Elissa Harrington reports. A group of protesters rallied outside the Fremont manufacturing plant today, calling for CEO Elon Musk to be arrested and jailed. Carlos Gabriel is an employee, and has refused to return to work. “I’m worried for my health,” said Gabriel. Gabriel is worried about the spread of COVID-19 and the difficulty of social distancing in the workplace. “I’m very disappointed in the leadership. I’m very disappointed in Elon Musk putting profits over the health of his workers,” said Gabriel.
