America's sport -- baseball -- did not catch on in one DFW suburb so another one is moving in. Dan Godwin reports live from what will soon be one of the finest cricket facilities in the country. Grand Prairie is trying to make the city a premier destination for cricket fans. The city council on Tuesday unanimously approved a project to renovate Airhogs Stadium near Lone Star Park, north of Interstate 30. It was another deadly weekend in Dallas. Three shootings left more than half a dozen people dead. It was a grim weekend with several deadly attacks in Dallas. There was also a random attack early Monday morning. Around 12:45 a.m., officers found a bullet-riddled car on East Grand Avenue in Dallas. Police said a man and his wife were in the car. A dark-colored SUV pulled up alongside them and started shooting. The man was taken to the hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. He is in serious condition. The Dallas police chief says she expected and welcomes an investigation by the district attorney into how police handled protests over the summer. There is now a criminal investigation by the Dallas County District Attorney into the way police behaved during protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The actions of the Dallas Police Department during the mass protests in May and June are the subject of a couple of investigations. After burning all day, firefighters seem to have contained and put out a large industrial fire in Grand Prairie that started early Wednesday. A massive fire is burning at an industrial park in Grand Prairie, west of Dallas. Firefighters are concerned about the toxic smoke and power lines that they said will come down at some point. The fire at the Poly America plant near the President George Bush Turnpike just north of Pioneer Parkway started burning around 1 a.m. Wednesday.
