(KY3) -Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson will sign an executive order requiring masks statewide.He made the announcement at his briefing Thursday in Little Rock.Arkansans must wear a mask when you cannot social distance up to six feet. It involves both indoor and outdoor settings. The mandate requires anyone older than ten to wear a mask. Exceptions include while eating, at athletic events and or if a job is impossible to do while wearing a mask. Missouri bills seek to protect drivers from criminal penalties if they hit protesters
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) - Two Missouri lawmakers have sponsored bills for the 2021 session that seek to protect drivers from criminal penalties if they hit protesters. The bills are sponsored by Missouri Rep. Adam Schnelting (R-St. Charles) and Sen.-elect Rick Brattin (R-Harrisonville).Rep. James River Church responds to complaints about crowded, unmasked Christmas services

Arkansas reaches new high in COVID-19 hospitalizations

(AP) — Arkansas’ COVID-19 hospitalizations continued climbing to a new high on Monday as the state reported more than 1,100 new coronavirus cases.The Department of Health said the number of people in the hospital due to the illness caused by the coronavirus increased by 33 to 1,063. The state’s confirmed and probable virus cases increased by 1,112 to 157,359.The number of people who died from COVID-19 increased by 32 to 2,502. Man shot, killed after altercation in Crane; Suspect arrested by Stone County, Mo. authorities

(KY3) - One person was killed and the suspect was arrested Sunday evening as authorities in Stone County are investigating a homicide in the town of Crane, Missouri.Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader tells KY3 that the victim, 27-year-old Nathan Johnson, was shot after an altercation at Blackberry Lane, near Highway BB. Mike Parson on Thursday announced new guidance aimed at keeping more kids, teachers and staff in school, even those who have been exposed to the coronavirus, citing concerns that quarantines interrupt learning and create staff shortages.Currently, anyone in a K-12 setting who is directly exposed to the coronavirus must quarantine for 14 days.
