A man from Ipswich is on a mission to make the lives of A14 commuters easier with the creation of a new web tool.Freelance web developer Alex Baldry, 22, said he launched OrwellBridgeStatus.com out of necessity and community spirit.Frequent delays and crashes on the Orwell Bridge can cause traffic chaos for miles and gridlock nearby towns.Alex identified a need for a tool that could be accessed quickly, which could allow commuters to plan their journeys ahead.He wanted to do his bit to remedy the ‘common annoyance’ such disruptions can cause. The busy street that went from having six pubs to none
It is amazing to think that Southgate Street, one of the main thoroughfares of Bury St Edmunds no longer has a retail shop. It is also quite incredible that a street that once possessed six public houses in the 20th century now has none!Starting at St Mary’s Square end of the street, number one was a beer-house, The Duke of Prussia.The building is no longer with us (a new property is on the site), but its name lives on with the diminutive Prussia Lane. Boys, 15 and 16, charged with burglary after death of pensioner

Seven people taken to hospital after critical incident
Seven people were taken to hospital after a critical incident near Newmarket.The East of England Ambulance Service was called at 4.22pm on Sunday to reports of a collision in Fordham Road, between Newmarket and Fordham.It declared a critical incident and sent two East Anglian Air Ambulances, Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, the hazardous area response team, seven ambulances and two ambulance officer vehicles.Seven people were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by land ambulances.Police and the fire service also attended. Planners approve eight new homes on site of ex-police station
