A colossal 435 jobs are to be axed at Sensodyne toothpaste and Advil painkillers firm Haleon as the group revealed plans to shut its only manufacturing site in the UK. The consumer healthcare group, which was spun out of drugs giant GSK in 2022, is shutting its factory in Maidenhead, Berkshire, which will affect the 435 staff at the site. At least three property developers have submitted a formal complaint, according to the Evening Standard newspaper. The London newspaper says police have been called to investigate allegations of bribery in applications for property developments. On Friday, April 26, the people of Slough woke up to a crime scene where police and forensics were working on collecting evidence. At 4:40am that morning police received reports that a man had been stabbed, with Thames Valley Police making five arrests.
