It’s 4am. And what do I decide to do? Write a blog post with nutrition advice for sleep deprived parents. Makes sense right?! That’s the funny thing about parenthood. When you CAN and SHOULD sleep, you’ll find yourself wide awake and productive. Anyhow, what makes me an expert on this subject? For starters, I’m a registered dietitian, a nutrition expert. Lessons Motherhood Has Taught Me…. So Far - Mom to Mom Nutrition
For as long as I can remember I’ve always wanted to be a Mom. The most vivid must-become-a-mom memories started as early as kindergarten when the first person to enter the playhouse after Bible time was the designated Mom for the day. Want to know who sat on the back of the story time mat so she could always be Mom? This girl. Something happens when you become a mother: you not only bring a new life [that you love unconditionally] into this world, but you take a back seat to their needs. I too did this when Joey was born, then Anthony, but slowly I’ve found little ways to still take time and do things for me. I want to be the best me for my boys, and that means I can’t always take the back seat— there’s room me in the front seat too!Living a healthy lifestyle not only means that I’m eating lots of good for you foods, but I’m doing things that make me happy. As a registered dietitian and a Mom who loves to eat, cook, and teach these life skills to my children, I have a confession: allowing my toddlers to help in the kitchen is STRESSFUL.
