There was an uneasy sense of panic at the grocery stores. People looked at each other as if they were all infected with a highly contagious and fatal virus. We suited up like surgeons just to go get bread and milk. Growing up surrounded by veterans, I have seen plenty of gratitude from people when they approach a veteran. I have seen the look on my Dad's face when someone says "Thank you for your service." I know that he appreciates the gesture and his eyes always light up a little when someone does approach him for a handshake. Now, the National Park Service, as well as other federally governed agencies, are offering all veterans, active duty, and Gold Star families a FREE lifetime pass for all Federally parks and recreation sites. Today is National Paranormal Day. Thankfully, Montana has its fair share of spooky places. With our state experiencing such a violent history, it is safe to assume that there are many paranormal hot spots all over Big Sky country. Some people take strolls through graveyards while others just turn off the lights and watch scary movies. But, scary movies are not always scary, and they always seem to have terrible reviews. Even some of the best scary movies of all time have 3-star ratings. Why is that?
