Chicken Noodle Soup + Cream Chicken Sandwiches
Hi friends! Let’s cue the end of a blogging hiatus. Those are necessary sometimes. A hiatus. I didn’t exactly make a conscious decision to take a break from blogging the last few months. Rather, life happened. I got busy. My time management skills slipped a bit and if we’re being honest, as we always should be, I lost a little motivation. It all makes writing today even better though, because it reminds me this blog means something significant to me and I have a true passion for writing and sharing recipes, cooking techniques and every day experiences with you all. I don’t know many of you...…Hi friends! Let’s cue the end of a blogging hiatus. Those are necessary sometimes. A hiatus. Christmas Eve 2017 + Fun Announcement
A few days ago Hailey asked if we were doing the Christmas Eve gift this year thinking she normally saw it under the tree by then. My initial reaction was so heartfelt; I love that she looks forward to this gift and that it’s become a family tradition for us. And then I was honest with her and told her my forgetfulness put me a bit behind schedule this year. Do you remember the super cute box from last year? Anyone know where I stored it after Christmas? Me either. I searched and searched for that box and was finally left with the option of buying a new one. Luckily, I went shopping at...…A few days ago Hailey asked if we were doing the Christmas Eve gift this year thinking she normally saw it under the tree by then. Mindset Monday: Making Moves
It’s a season of making changes. Making moves Most everyone I know has change all around New weekNew school yearNew schooling levelNew – change – new – change – new – change It’s hard to ALSO make changes that serve yourself when there is so much new and change everywhere else in your world So start small. The tides do not roll in or out in one swoop. They move inches, maybe a foot, then move again. Start making moves. You’ll be amazed where you end up…It’s a season of making changes. Monday Mindset: Do You Word of the Year?
This is something I have picked up by being in direct sales and getting a good bit of business coaching…and I have to say, I always enjoy finding a word with multiple meanings to be a focal point for a new season I don’t do resolutions. I do business and personal goal setting Having a word to create a focal point for both of these aspects of my life, as they are as connected as right and left hands, helps me find and maintain that intention This year my word is PRESENT To be present in the moment, and better manage distractions. To appreciate the present. To value the gift that it is. Changes–Not Good, Not Bad
I had a colleague who, when talking about the stages of growing children, insisted that one stage was not better then the next–just different. I, as a young mother with my first child, disagreed. I loved the playfulness of 2, the personality of 3, the independence of 4, the self-assertiveness of 5. Then I had my second child and saw the wisdom of her words. My second child’s milestones feel bittersweet. Crawling means more fidgeting when I hold her for too long. Walking means the end of baby snuggles. Every stage is just different. I think about 2020 in the same way. We are changed by it....…I had a colleague who, when talking about the stages of growing children, insisted that one stage was not better then the next–just different.
