Throwback Thursday: Unadilla AMA 125cc Motocross National Gate Drop (1998)
Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael Nailed Down His First Unadilla Victory that WeekendIn this week’s episode of Throwback Thursday, we wind back the clock 25 years, to 1998 and the AMA/Mazda Trucks 125cc Motocross National Championship round at Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New Berlin, New York. Photographer Karl Ockert wonderfully captured the start of one of the 125cc Motos with Kawasaki riders Casey Johnson (No. 20) and Ricky Carmichael (No. 1) getting great jumps out of the gate. Carmichael would go on to score a 2-1 to win the overall. Throwback Thursday: Kenny Roberts, Malcolm Smith and Bruce Penhall Ride the Dunes (1980)
Great British photographer Don Morley took the photo during filming of On Any Sunday IIIn this week’s Throwback we travel back 43 years to 1980 and set down on California’s Imperial Dunes. There we find three legends getting together to ride their dirt bikes on the dunes to be captured on film for the movie On Any Sunday II. The legends in question were (l to r) Kenny Roberts, Malcolm Smith and Bruce Penhall.
