The Agassiz-Harrison Lions have continued their decades-long tradition of supporting the Friendship House. The Lions have donated funds to the Friendship House since it was built in 1990. It was generous donations from local volunteers that allowed the Friendship House to be built in the first place, along with donated land from the Sciotti family. The local Lions have helped maintain and upgrade this community fixture, which has long been a gathering place for seniors to help maintain physical and mental health through a variety of activities and programs. Update: 2:27 p.m. The patient involved in an alleged stabbing was loaded into a medical helicopter to be transported for treatment. ___ Original story: Emergency scanner traffic indicated that there was a stabbing at Kent Institution, a maximum security prison just outside of Agassiz. At about 1:45 p.m. on Friday (May 3), there were reports of an individual that had been stabbed 11 times. A medical helicopter was launched, two ambulances were on scene, and the Agassiz Fire Department was there to deliver medical aid.
