Tuesday night, Officers stopped a car near East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue because it had an illegal amount of window tinting. The tint measured at 4% at the front side windows*. Vadym Shmyga, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle With Vision Reducing Material Applied. Shmyga was released with a summons.
On the afternoon of April 23rd, a dog was found running at large in the 1900 block of South Montgomery. While making contact with the owner, he was unable to provide current rabies vaccination records for any of his dogs. Austin A. Boatcher, 27, of Sedalia, issued citations for Animal At Large, Vaccination Required, and License Required. Makalya Droege, 24, of the same address, was also cited for not being able to provide vaccination records and a city license for her dog. Droege was issued citations for Vaccination Required and License Required.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had no license plate lights very early Tuesday morning. The driver was found to have a revoked driving status. The driver denied consent to search the vehicle. K9 Rocky was deployed. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the driver and the passenger being arrested. Oleg A. Mironov, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, No Proof of Insurance, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. Josey Dayle Mironov, 26, of Green Ridge, was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Officers observed an eastbound silver Chevrolet car negotiating the curve just east of South Marshall Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard early Wednesday morning. It crossed outside of the lane, over the dashed white line. It also had an illegal amount of window tinting. The vehicle was pulled over near the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Harding Avenue. The driver had a warrant out of Boone County from 2021, and the passenger had five warrants from the City of Sedalia. Samuel J. Blanchard, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Boone County warrant on charges of felony Forgery, and felony Stealing. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety. The passenger was in possession of a controlled substance and introduced it into the Jail Facility. Marcus Mantrell McKnight, 36, was arrested on his FTA warrants on original charges of Driving While Suspended (4 Counts), Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility, and Driving While Intoxicated. New charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Delivery of a Controlled Substance into a Jail Facility were filed. McKnight was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
Tuesday night, Officers stopped a car near East Broadway Boulevard and South Emmet Avenue because it had an illegal amount of window tinting. The front side windows were measured at 16%*. Joshua John Curry, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle With Vision Reducing Material Applied. Curry was issued a citation and released on scene.
Sedalia Police stopped a truck on East Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue because it had a rear license plate with two different year stickers, and had an illegal amount of window tint applied. Officers stopped the vehicle Tuesday night, and contacted the driver. The window tint was measured at 16%*. There was also a child in the vehicle, with the child restraint incorrectly utilized. Maksym Zoshchuk, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle With Vision Reducing Material Applied, and Transport of Children Under 16 Years of Age. Zoshchuk was cited and released at the scene.
On the afternoon of April 15th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol requested assistance from the Sedalia Police Department’s K9 Unit. K9 Rocky was deployed for a free air sniff around the vehicle, which had been pulled over in the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue. K9 Rocky alerted to the odor of drugs and a probable cause search of the vehicle was performed. A substance suspected to be methamphetamine was found. There was no further information in the report.
Tuesday evening, Officers stopped a white KIA near the intersection of East 7th Street and South Engineer Avenue after it had been observed speeding. The vehicle also had an illegal amount of window tinting, measured at 14%*. Hannah Cassels Meyer, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle With Vision Reducing Material Applied. Meyer was released on scene with a citation.
On the afternoon of April 25th, several dogs were found running at large in the area of the 800 block of East 14th Street.&nbsp; When the dogs were returned to the owner, she was unable to provide any current rabies vaccination records or a city license for the dog.&nbsp; Consuella M. Brey, 42, of Sedalia, was issued citations for Animals Running at Large (Two Counts), Vaccination Required, and License Required.

Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street Tuesday night to investigate a physical disturbance in progress. A patient became combative with Security and Bothwell Staff, before being restrained. Multiple staff members were assaulted, and charges are being pursued.
Monday night, Officers stopped a truck near West 7th Street and South Osage Avenue because it had expired license plates, and a brake light was out. The driver was intoxicated by drugs. Johnny Joe Renno, 55, of Hughesville, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Methamphetamine was located in the truck between where the driver and the passenger were sitting. The passenger had time to conceal the drugs in the truck. Jessica Lea Reed, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Renno, the driver, was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail. Reed, the passenger, was booked in the Pettis County jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
Tuesday evening, a car was stopped near West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue because it had no front license plate. The vehicle also had illegal amounts of window tinting on the side windows* (7%), and tint on the front windshield. Andrey Kazakov, 29, of Green Ridge, was arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle With Vision Reducing Material Applied. Kazakov was released on the scene with a citation.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to Vermont Park early Tuesday morning in regards to a past assault. At the conclusion of the investigation, Officers issued a citation. Cody Austin Harvey, 31, of Sedalia, was cited for Assault. The subjects were released on the scene.
Officers were dispatched to South Mill Avenue and East 3rd Street for a report of property damage Tuesday morning. Officers arrived on scene, spoke with Brandon Dean Rupe, and gathered information for a report.
On the morning of April 24th, Officers responded to the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard regarding a theft. The reporting party stated a male had taken her wallet and the contents that were inside at the intersection of West 7th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. The male reported he did not take the wallet, and was assaulted by the reporting party. A report was taken, and charges regarding the incident were submitted. It was not clear in the report what charges are being submitted.
