I liked this article, recounting the tragic Lahaina fires and what went wrong that caused so much destruction. There were lots of accounts from residents, and they explained how the road closures caused most of the trouble getting to safety. There were also outbound links to other events that happened relating to the incident, such as the county suing the electrical company for wildfire negligence. There was also counter statements from Lahaina police officers saying that the seemingly troublesome road closures were to prevent cars from running over downed power lines that still had energy. They did not have confirmation from the electric company whether they were active.
