Skip to contentMost of the year it is sunny and hot in Florida, but between the months of May and October, it can get pretty sweltering. As you approach the summer months, the humidity starts to set in and if you have trouble handling high temperatures, then you’ll want to get prepared. I’ve traveled to Florida during some of the hottest times of the year, so I’ve got a few tips on how to stay cool in Florida during those hot times. I can usually handle high heat, but even I need to have a few tools in my pocket.&nbsp;Here are my best tips on how to stay cool in Florida during the hottest times of the year:&nbsp;This is probably hands down the best discovery I ever made for my trips to Florida! A cooling towel is simply a small piece of absorbant fabric, that when you snap it, it becomes cool to the touch. I use them to wrap around the back of my neck and it really helps to make you feel a few degrees cooler. The towel is very small and compact, so super easy to just fold up and keep in your bag. You could probably carry it in your pocket, that is how small it is. Just make sure to bring a ziploc bag to store it in, since it will be a bit moist once you use it.&nbsp;You can find a wide range of different cooling towels on Amazon, many different price points to choose from. I highly recommend having one with you, it will make a big difference!&nbsp;Another great tool to have to cool off, but this one is a little bigger to carry around. If you plan to have a backpack with you, then you can easily fit it in there. It’s a fan with a water bottle attached so that you can cool off with the fan while getting a spritz of water at the same time. You will see a lot of people using these in the parks as they do sell them there. The ones in the parks though are close to $20 USD. You can get one on Amazon ahead of time for about half the price. The O2COOL Deluxe Misting Fan runs around $10 and if you buy it beforehand, you’ll have it to use right away at the beginning of your vacation.&nbsp;It is super important to stay hydrated at all times? Becoming dehydrated will create a mess of problems and really put a damper on your magical vacation. Get ahead of that and make sure you have water on you at all times.&nbsp;You can get free ice water from any quick-service location is Disney World, but I have heard a lot of negative reviews about the taste of Florida tap water. For that reason, I have always stayed away from it and just made sure I have my own bottled water. I always order a case of bottled water to my hotel and then we can just throw them in our bags each day so we have water on the go. If you are looking for a service to order water and snacks from, I highly recommend Instart. I used them on my last trip and was very happy with the service and I found the prices to be better priced than some of the other services out there. You can use this link to get $10 off your first order.&nbsp;In a few locations in the parks, there are opportunities to get wet to cool down a bit. They vary from splash pad type areas, to some misting locations. Disney has two water parks – Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Definitely a great way to still enjoy some attractions while staying cool the entire time. Go back to your hotel for a nap or have a dip in the pool. It will really break up your day and allow you to get re-energized for the evening. Plus, you’ll avoid the hottest times of the day walking around in the parks.&nbsp;If you do plan to stay in the parks during the high peak heat times, then there are some opportunities to take breaks in the parks.
