Republicans Introduce Transgender, Black Jim Crow Laws

&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Nobody is surprised. Their pride wounded at the federal level, state GOP lawmakers are introducing ridiculous and damaging laws. From secession in Texas to punishing abortion by the death penalty in, well, Texas, many of these laws have no chance.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;However, those not embraced solely by fringe Republicans, mostly involving discrimination and not death, are passing and being introduced by the hundreds. In Iowa, Georgia, Oklahoma, Montana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and other states, lawmakers are pushing two main sets of laws.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Some that have already been signed involve oppressing transgender people. From banning trans women and children from playing sports to banning insurance support for transgender people and making it a felony to support transgender people, these laws are reminiscent of the Jim Crow era. They, unfortunately, are not the only ones.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Republicans are already signing bills to require numerous separate forms of ID (barring students and homeless people from voting), ban early voting and vote-by-mail (barring the middle and lower classes from voting), and more, under the guise of election integrity. Not once in history has voter fraud impacted the results of any election. If democracy isn't already secure, what is?&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;These tactics have worked in Georgia and other states, and they are designed to prevent Democrats from winning. Republicans have not won national support in 30 years, and they don't care who they have to step on to win.Warrior.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Russian government and Russian army is filled with murderers, war criminals, rapists, and all the other forms of scum that walk the Earth. Every Russian soldier killed, every Russian family ripped to shreds is a small victory for the rule of law, for democracy, for prosperity, and for humanity. We've already seen their actions contrasted against the compassion of the Ukrainian people, military, and legal system in a court of law. Within the past 10 days, one man pleaded guilty to war crimes for shooting a 62-year-old man riding his bike in a Russian-occupied city and was sentenced to life in prison while two more pleaded guilty to shelling Ukraine from Russia and face up to 12 years in prison when sentenced. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Since the war began, Russia has had an estimated 30,000 troops killed and 30,000 more injured, deserted, or captured, effectively taking 60,000 troops off of the battlefield out of their initial invasion force of roughly 175,000. This represents approximately 34 p&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Republicans have a history of helping causes they're trying to hurt with overblown, hyperbolic, theatric rhetoric. A prime example was during the confirmation hearings of Ketanji Brown Jackson, when Ted Cruz tried to paint her as racist toward white people (Rafael Cruz is not even white) by holding up children's books teaching something he apparently sees as controversial: racism is bad. When he read those books, sales exploded to the tune of millions of dollars, all of which went toward progressive authors. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The master of this craft, however, is Matt Gaetz. He made a remark on Twitter about "overeducated women" being a threat to society after the leak draft of the SCOTUS decision overturning Roe v. Wade &nbsp;was released in May of 2022. In response to these abhorrent remarks, activists started a website called overeducatedwomen.com &nbsp;that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for six different women's rights groups. That wouldn't be the last time M&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On March 7th, 2022, Guy Reffitt, the first Capitol insurrectionist to go to trial, was convicted of five felonies that could and should send him to prison for up to 60 years. Less than 24 hours later, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was charged with conspiracy for his involvement in orchestrating the attack on the U.S. Capitol, just a week after Alabama Oath Keepers leader Joshua James became the first person to plead guilty to seditious conspiracy and Capitol rioter and convicted felon Matthew Perna offed himself. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The conviction of Reffitt is not the last Capitol riot case that will go to trial in March 2022 alone. Otero County County commissioner Couy Griffin, who has also been charged for illegally failing to register his New Mexico-based organization Cowboys for Trump and who had previously threatened to bring a gun to the inauguration of Joe Biden, illegally taken sand from a local national park, and more, will go on trial for trespassing in the U.S. Capitol on January
