&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;One single graphic shows an astonishing source of America's national debt: 36% of our budget goes to the military. Considering that is more than the next 15 nations put together, most of which are allies, it is obvious that no major threat to America's national security warrants this extravagant level of spending. Granted, Democrats are mostly in favor of maintaining the current spending. However, the Republicans tend to favor an increase in spending. In 2012, in fact, Mitt Romney advocated giving the military billions of dollars that they did not request, citing the state of the Navy while ignoring the fact the nature of warfare has changed drastically toward aerial and special-ops work. This came at a proposed cost of crucial funding for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and other programs.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;This is not the only display of the Republican Party's fiscal recklessness. Despite claims that Joe Biden is in bed with China (he is actually in favor of cutting reliance on China), Republicans have done so consistently for the sake of cheaper American goods at the expense of human rights, fair wages, and employment. Ivanka Trump has all of the goods for her company shipped from China, and Scott Walker famously brought FoxConn to steal from the world's largest source of fresh water, Lake Michigan.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Even more heinously, the Republicans, who proclaim their disdain for taxes and a high federal budget, pass tax breaks only for the rich and, as aforementioned, fail to cut the most odious sources of the national debt. Social programs are peanuts compared to the massive cost of the military, and the party that claims to oppose international intervention fails to see the logic in ending the means to these ends. During the COVID pandemic, of the $4.2 trillion in relief, $3 trillion was given to corporations who pocketed the money and laid off employees anyway. Trump's tax cut in 2017 did not affect anyone in the lower or middle class.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;One more subtle note is the cost of the death penalty. Many suspect that life imprisonment is far too costly and suggest merely using a bullet in the head to serve justice. This is hypocritical talk from the party that believes in strict interpretation of the Constitution and the rights to due process it bestows. However, the death penalty is actually more expensive due to the calling of witnesses and executioners, the appeal process, the special security for death row inmates, and the increasingly-rare supply of the lethal drugs used.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Finally, a simple look at history will tell one that the Democrats have superior economic policies. Franklin D. Roosevelt pulled the nation out of the Great Depression and reformed Wall Street, Lyndon B. Johnson halved poverty and created Medicare and Medicaid, Bill Clinton presided over the largest peacetime economic growth in American history, and Barack Obama pulled the U.S. out of the 2008 recession.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Economics are a key concern in any nation, and the Republicans simply have economics wrong.Warrior.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Russian government and Russian army is filled with murderers, war criminals, rapists, and all the other forms of scum that walk the Earth. Every Russian soldier killed, every Russian family ripped to shreds is a small victory for the rule of law, for democracy, for prosperity, and for humanity. We've already seen their actions contrasted against the compassion of the Ukrainian people, military, and legal system in a court of law. Within the past 10 days, one man pleaded guilty to war crimes for shooting a 62-year-old man riding his bike in a Russian-occupied city and was sentenced to life in prison while two more pleaded guilty to shelling Ukraine from Russia and face up to 12 years in prison when sentenced. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Since the war began, Russia has had an estimated 30,000 troops killed and 30,000 more injured, deserted, or captured, effectively taking 60,000 troops off of the battlefield out of their initial invasion force of roughly 175,000. This represents approximately 34 p&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Republicans have a history of helping causes they're trying to hurt with overblown, hyperbolic, theatric rhetoric. A prime example was during the confirmation hearings of Ketanji Brown Jackson, when Ted Cruz tried to paint her as racist toward white people (Rafael Cruz is not even white) by holding up children's books teaching something he apparently sees as controversial: racism is bad. When he read those books, sales exploded to the tune of millions of dollars, all of which went toward progressive authors. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The master of this craft, however, is Matt Gaetz. He made a remark on Twitter about "overeducated women" being a threat to society after the leak draft of the SCOTUS decision overturning Roe v. Wade &nbsp;was released in May of 2022. In response to these abhorrent remarks, activists started a website called overeducatedwomen.com &nbsp;that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for six different women's rights groups. That wouldn't be the last time M&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On March 7th, 2022, Guy Reffitt, the first Capitol insurrectionist to go to trial, was convicted of five felonies that could and should send him to prison for up to 60 years. Less than 24 hours later, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was charged with conspiracy for his involvement in orchestrating the attack on the U.S. Capitol, just a week after Alabama Oath Keepers leader Joshua James became the first person to plead guilty to seditious conspiracy and Capitol rioter and convicted felon Matthew Perna offed himself. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The conviction of Reffitt is not the last Capitol riot case that will go to trial in March 2022 alone. Otero County County commissioner Couy Griffin, who has also been charged for illegally failing to register his New Mexico-based organization Cowboys for Trump and who had previously threatened to bring a gun to the inauguration of Joe Biden, illegally taken sand from a local national park, and more, will go on trial for trespassing in the U.S. Capitol on January
