Two minutes of hate:The beltway tabloid known as the Washington Post has issued a correction regarding a “news report” the outlet ran two months ago. The correction refers to a story that claimed President Trump pressured Georgia officials to “find the fraud” in the 2020 election and told Frances Watson, the chief investigator of the Georgia secretary of state, she would be a “national hero” when she found the fraud that helped Trump win reelection. A correction is the response to an action that is unintentional, a “mistake” or “error.” For example, if you added a cup of salt to a recipe instead of a cup of sugar, you’d characterize that as a mistake. You didn’t intend to add the salt, perhaps you misread your recipe or confused your containers of granulated white stuff.There’s a name for an action that was intentionally false and that name is LIE. The Washington Post ran a salacious story without any evidence other than the word of their source and didn’t require any evidence because they wanted it to be true. Their damaging and scandalous “reporting” was included in the Trump Impeachment Theater 2.0.Why did the Post issue a correction? Why not let the myth live on? Because a digital copy of the conversation was found in the trash on the Georgia state investigator’s office computer and the Post and its accomplices would be exposed as the liars they are. Why was it deleted in the first place and why wasn’t it turned over to the Washington Post as evidence to support the provocative allegations? We know that answer now: because the recording didn’t say what the “source” alleged. The Post, being propaganda-promoting hacks didn’t require any evidence to run their fable and deceive the public. But the burden is on the Post to verify the tips they get. Political media activists are paid good money to pitch stories to the press, it’s the press’s job to make sure they aren’t being used in a political feud to promote falsehoods.Another important observation about this shameful event: the investigator could have come out at any time to say that source was wrong and Trump did not say the things the Post published. But she didn’t and instead the important audio conversation found its way into in the trash. If the conversation was important enough to record, why did it go missing only to be poorly deleted? How corrupt. Who can believe these people actually investigated election fraud in their state?The damage has been done. This is yet another instance of the media working as a propaganda outlet to accomplish the mission of damaging the institutional state’s political enemies. There is a pattern here and if the Washington Post were acting in good faith, they would have tightened up their protocols to avoid being duped as they had so many times with the RUSSIA-collusion hoax.
