The count currently stands at 1.92 million.Despite the mounting opposition in his own state, Newsom said in a press conference on Thursday that he would not be relinquishing emergency powers or removing mask mandates anytime soon. In fact, the beleaguered governor recommended Californians begin wearing two masks instead of just one.He accused states beginning the process of releasing emergency powers of operating on “bad information” and claimed he would not let California go down the same dangerous path.:“We are encouraging people basically to double down on mask wearing, particularly in light of all what I would argue is bad information coming from at least four states in this country.
