A 15-year-old girl who was shot in the head during a double shooting last week in West Philadelphia has died, FOX 29's Steve Keeley has learned. Embaba Menegesteabe was inside a car with her&nbsp;20-year-old brother&nbsp;on the&nbsp;6200 block of Chestnut Street last Tuesday around 3 p.m. when police say nearly 20 shots were fired at the car. MORE:&nbsp;Both victims were struck in the head by gunfire and taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, according to police. The teen remained in critical condition until she died Tuesday. Her brother&nbsp;has since been released from the hospital. FOX 29’s Dave Schratwieser reports news of the death of 15-year-old Embaba Menegesteabe traveled fast across West and Southwest Philadelphia Wednesday, even reaching passersby at the middle school she attended for years. Advertisement "She was somebody’s daughter, a father and a mother has lost a child senselessly," stated resident Salaam Barr.&nbsp;"I’m a parent myself, so this is devastating. I think of her parents, her family, her extended family, classmates," remarked Philadelphia Police Captain Matthew Gillespie."It’s mind boggling. It’s like these young guys don’t have no empathy. They’re cold-hearted," added Barr.On the block where she lived and at Motivation High School where she attended classes, there was sorrow. School officials were too devastated by the senseless loss to speak with reporters."It breaks my heart for her and her family," Barr commented.School officials are planning a vigil at Tilden Middle School in her honor. Meanwhile, investigators are tracking down leads and reviewing surveillance video from the crime scene, trying to identify the shooters."Broad daylight, multiple rounds, several people hit.
