While the article is from a credible outlet, that notwithstanding, it provides little in the way of actual information. Prospective readers may find that the piece has the feel of being a snippet of an overheard conversation that was written down. A near complete lack of context is also problematic. Additionally, the article would be of almost no use whatsoever to any individuals currently impacted by the referenced issue.

Lack of Reliable Sources
August 12, 2019
The article does as little as possible to actually explain why the people of Newark, New Jersey have such high lead levels in their drinking water. Further the Mayor of Newark and the Governor of NJ have supplied the people with water filters which the EPA claims are insufficient to filter the lead from the water. All the article says about this incredible statement is "it remains unclear why the filters do not work". Shouldn't they investigate and find out?

Lack of Reliable Sources

This article does very little, if anything, to explain the water crisis in Newark. It simply pulls a few uninformative quotes and packages it up as a surface level piece on the situation.

This is a very brief article, but it discusses a water crisis continuing to unfold in Newark, NJ. It largely restates the official statement they cite (https://www.newarknj.gov/news/joint-statement-by-governor-murphy-and-newark-mayor-ras-baraka-on-corrosion-control-efforts), but the more people who know about these issues across the US the better.
