While this list includes common places where swings reside, due to safety concerns they’re often taken down. Use these swings at your own risk. Even if you get to a spot and a swing is missing, it’s probably a great place to take in the views and snap a photo anyway.In 2018, a group dubbed #SwingbombSF put up more than 50 rope swings all over San Francisco to help bring a sense of joy and wonder to the city's residents. The swings, which were hand-painted and individually numbered, were said to be “engineered and placed to be safe and secure,” though as the Recreation and Parks Department hadn’t evaluated them, the department had to take any they encountered down.
