Phil Murphy expressed dismay at his&nbsp;press briefing&nbsp;Monday&nbsp;about the party after it was mentioned by a reporter."I am aware only generally of the party in Alpine, and I've not liked what I've heard," Murphy said. "I understand it was more outside than inside, but based on the description, there was close congregation and not a lot of face covering."Murphy added that if it turned out that people were bused in from out of town, then it would not "end well" for the organizers of the party or the attendees, in terms of their health.Mayor Paul Tomasko confirmed&nbsp;that the party took place Saturday afternoon outside a house on&nbsp;Hemlock Drive.Tomasko said the party was not broken up, but was "held and controlled with police in full force." He said it started in the afternoon and ended at 10 p.m. with local police and mutual aid from neighboring police departments on hand.CORONAVIRUS:ALPINE:The mayor said he did not know&nbsp;the&nbsp;exact number of guests&nbsp;at the party, but he noted, "It was a large&nbsp;enough number that it raised&nbsp;concerns for a variety of reasons&nbsp;— not the least is this pandemic."&nbsp;Tomasko said police were made aware of the party&nbsp;because "news travels fast" and that the matter is under investigation by&nbsp;the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.&nbsp;Bergen County Assistant Prosecutor Elizabeth Rebein did not immediately respond to an email for comment on Monday.&nbsp;"Nobody wants this," Tomasko said. "I find this perplexing and disturbing, and we're concerned about it."Alpine, Tomasko said, has had 25 confirmed coronavirus cases and one death. It has a population of fewer than 2,000.&nbsp;According to public real estate records,&nbsp;the seven-bedroom Hemlock Drive home where the party was held&nbsp;is owned by Joseph LaBarbiera, an attorney at the Hudson County law firm LaBarbiera &amp; Martinez and a former Ridgefield borough councilman.&nbsp;LaBarbiera could not be reached immediately&nbsp;for comment.&nbsp;Alpine Police Chief Christopher Belcolle also could not be reached for comment.Ricardo&nbsp;Kaulessar&nbsp;is a local reporter for NorthJersey.com.
