Fans had not been allowed under Beshear's "Healthy at Work" plan.Cameron, a Republican, said in a statement while there is no doubt there is a&nbsp;need to protect public health during the pandemic, the Kentucky&nbsp;Constitution, "expressly prohibits one person from controlling every aspect of life" for residents."Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Beshear's&nbsp;restrictive executive orders have shuttered the commonwealth’s economy, leaving nearly half of our workforce unemployed and dictating the manner in which Kentuckians can live their lives," he said.For subscribers:But Beshear, a Democrat, warned that the ruling takes away important efforts to protect Kentuckians from the pandemic and as other states are seeing the virus reemerge.“This ruling is dangerous and would lessen and eliminate important protections that numerous states are using to stop the spread of the coronavirus," he said.&nbsp;"The ruling lessening day care protections comes on the same day that we learned 300 children in Texas day cares have contracted the virus. We will be filing the appropriate papers to move this case directly to the Court of Appeals and state Supreme Court. An attorney general should protect people, not put their lives in danger.”Beshear has been accused by GOP critics of failing to understand the state's economic needs in the face of the pandemic. Those naysayers have said the governor's executive orders are doing more harm, while Democrats argue Beshear is trying to&nbsp;stop the spread of the contagion.The governor on Thursday said&nbsp;Kentucky had and nine&nbsp;additional deaths, bringing the state's total case count to&nbsp;16,079,&nbsp;with 581&nbsp;virus-related fatalities.The state has been reporting anywhere from 100 to around 300 new cases of COVID-19 per day in recent weeks, as other states are beginning to retreat from their reopening plans.Read this:Beshear&nbsp;noted&nbsp;during a&nbsp;news conference on Tuesday that Kentucky appears to be experiencing a&nbsp;"plateau" of new cases, while&nbsp;states like Texas and Florida are seeing soaring rates of new infections, forcing a new round of shutdowns of bars and other gatherings.The governor sent out a video ahead of the July Fourth weekend asking Kentuckians to take precautions to avoid spreading the virus."Kentucky, we are doing an amazing job at fighting this virus," Beshear said in a video Thursday. "But we see with states all around us, mainly to our south, how quickly it can get out of hand."But attorney Chris Wiest, who represented the plaintiffs in the case, said the judge's ruling averted a crisis given the&nbsp;day cares he represented were a month or two away from closing if Beshear had his way. Those plaintiffs had taken aim at&nbsp;social distancing requirements in place for child care programs, specifically how groups of no more than 10 children must remain together all day without combining with another classroom."If that was allowed to happen, the governor's orders would have forced working parents into choosing whether to lose their jobs to stay home with their children, or even worse, to leave kids home alone or in less safe settings, which would have led to tragic events and the deaths of children," Weist told The Courier Journal on Friday.See also:Staff writer Billy Kobin contributed to this report.
