The youth was tested Friday before being released; test results became available Saturday, officials said.The minor was asymptomatic while at the detention center and is now self-quarantining, officials said.In addition to campus-wide testing, the South Portland detention center is stepping up precautions to prevent the spread of the virus, including medical monitoring and use of personal protective equipment.In other Maine coronavirus-related news:The numbersMaine reported 30 more cases of the virus Monday along with an additional death. That brought the total reported cases to 3,221 and the number of deaths to 105.For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.Shipyard outbreakBath Iron Works reports that two more shipbuilders have tested positive after another worker tested positive last week.The two workers had been carpooling with the worker who tested positive last week, the shipyard said. They are receiving medical care and have been instructed to self-isolate.The Maine Center for Disease Control classifies three or more cases to be an outbreak.Three workers who previously tested positive have recovered and returned to work.Debit cardsMaine's independent Sen. Angus King has joined a group of 15 senators in asking the Treasury Department to provide answers about problem some residents have had after receiving CARES Act stimulus payments as debit cards. King and the other senators said the program has included additional fees. Some residents have also been confused by the cards and thrown them out, he said.King has also called for direct cash payments to be the standard.Portland bar sceneThe Portland Police Department said businesses in the Old Port district are in compliance with restrictions imposed because of the coronavirus.Many were outraged when photos circulated on social media of a large group of people, many without face coverings, Friday night on Wharf Street, which is home to numerous restaurants and bars.Police stepped up patrols Saturday night, and the sweep yielded no violations or fines, said police spokesman Lt.
