So, the police are supporting us they actually are probably glad that we’re coming. So we’re doing the right thing here and I’m going to continue to coordinate with him throughout the week to make sure things go smooth." Protests have continued in downtown Louisville for more than four weeks as people call for justice following the deaths of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and many others. There are several events planned for Saturday morning, including one that appears to be in opposition of the group in the video.When WLKY reached out to LMPD for comment Thursday, they said that they had reached out to organizers to get an understanding of what to expect, as they do with all groups, but did "in no way express support for any disruptive actions being taken by this group or any other."The next day, LMPD released their plans for Saturday in anticipation of increased activity. They said they will:Be present in Jefferson Square ParkSecure 2 areas on opposite sides of Jefferson Street, utilizing bike rack barriers to keep opposing protesters separated.Prohibit parking at all parking meters on the streets surrounding the park (Jefferson, 6th and Liberty streets)Close down Jefferson and Liberty Streets between 5th and 7th streets, and 6th street between Mark and Liberty streets, starting between 6 and 7 a.m.Their post says they won't intervene unless there is a threat to safety, and will not tolerate barricading of streets by non-law enforcement.Mayor Greg Fischer also addressed the "American Freedom Fighters" post on his Facebook page, saying "Our message is simple: We don’t need you here.
