This all seems true but a bit surface level: how often would these icebergs break off in cooler times? How much are these examples picked from a much larger set of icebergs & glaciers that presumably, are ALL moving less dramatically? How much are scientists concerned about the glacier at the head of this ice shelf, that would itself raise sea levels a half a meter? No answers I could see. But still, I have no doubt this *IS* happening, and if the reports make these events seem numbingly prosaic, it is nonetheless journalism's responsibility to show how the world around us is changing.
