This article displays the contentious back-and-forths of the many candidates running for California governor. Newsom is the favorite in the polls, and so he had to defend off a lot of the challengers' criticisms. I wish author Carla Marinucci had linked a video of the full debate for the readers.

I didn't watch the debates on TV, but this article seems to do a credible job reporting on the various topics discussed live. Despite the "under attack" sensationalism of the title, the article generally does a good job staying away from typical debate "fight" analogies and arbitrary winner/loser picks.

I feel like there is a slight tilt in this article toward one particular candidate, but it largely sticks to a play by play of the major highlights of the gubernatorial race.

Headline may be a tad exaggerated with the "under attack" descriptor, but it doesn't deviate too far from the content of the article.
