AND ááSTATE PARKS ARE  BECAUSE OF THAT, THERE WILL BE SOME CHANGES WHILE CAMPING AT STATE PARKS... CONCESSION STANDS WILL BE CLOSED... THERE WILL NO CABIN RENTALS... AND NO EQUIPMENT WILL BE LOANED OUT... TO KEEP PEOPLE SAFE WHILE THEY ENJOY THE OUTDOORS.   BACK AT SHELBURNE CAMPING...  MANAGEMENT IS GEARING UP FOR A BUSY WEEKEND... This year, there (have) been zero (Canadian customers)," said Chris Bissonette, general manager of Shelburne Camping.Campgrounds across Vermont have taken a hit since the COVID-19 pandemic has forced many to press pause on taking reservations."At this point, throughout May, we are down about 30%," said Bissonette.But despite the slow start, things are looking up."Reservations are fairly strong," said Bissonette.Gov. Phil Scott eased restrictions on campgrounds, allowing them to book at 100% capacity."We had to, a long time ago, make some assumptions about what the summer was going to be like," said Craig Whipple, with Vermont State Parks.He said there will be some changes while camping at Vermont State Parks this summer.Concession stands will be closed and there will be no cabin or equipment rentals in order to keep people safe while they enjoy the outdoors."Being outside, being distant from other folks it all points to a good thing to do this summer," said Whipple.At Shelburne Camping, management was gearing up for a busy weekend. Reservations are up due to the Father's Day Lake Champlain International Fishing Derby."Customers are willing to do what is needed to come and enjoy Vermont," said Bissonette, which makes him a happy camper."We opened April 1 for our summer season.
