There is not much that one can say about "reporting" such as this. But, that doesn't mean your intrepid critic won't do so. Firstly and frankly, this is more public relations than any else. And as has been noted by yours truly before, public relations is not journalism. This piece, when distilled down to its bare essence, is nothing more than a gathering together of society page snippets stitched into a "news article". The only original bit of this entire tedious, but mercifully brief, exercise is the Author's snark opinion gratuitously inserted into the last paragraph. Not a worthwhile read. In fact, watching grass grow would be more edifying.

Great Context

The article is solid up until the very last sentence when author Alison Griswold takes a stab at Bezos, sarcastically calling him out for a lack of philanthropy. This was a strong and well-researched article up until that point, and it's a shame that authors sometimes feel the need to add their own snarky conclusion at the end of articles, which for this reader only disturbs the otherwise informing journey they'd taken me on up until that point. These forced final sentences that don't match with the otherwise objective reporting of the piece just leaves readers with a bad taste in their mouth and makes readers question the bias of the entire piece.
