Daniels started the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Booze" for Hillsborough last week to get women involved in this fun activity."It is just a great way to brighten up someone else's day and brighten up your own day," Daniels said. "There is a lot going on in the world and to me this lets us bring light into everyone's life." Daniels was inspired to start the private Facebook page after some of her friends began participating in Hunterdon County. Women across New Jersey — also known as "wine fairies", "beer fairies", or "booze fairies" — created this initiative to bring cheer during the quarantine.The way it works is township women join the group, share their address, and can stipulate what their beverage of choice is (whether it be alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Someone else in the group will take an address and drop off a festive gift basket at their doorstep filled with a beverage such as a bottle of wine or beer along with snacks, candles and any other goodies."You can kind of have it catered to what you like but while also keeping it a surprise," Daniels said. Daniels noted how some people have given gift baskets of wine, cheese and crackers while others will give sangria and a wine glass."I am very big into living a positive lifestyle and making people happy," Daniels said. "Women who may be going through a divorce or having a rough day at work, this can be a happy surprise to come home to." Since starting the group last week, more than 100 women have already joined. "This is also great during the summer since none of us can really go anywhere and most of us are stuck at home," Daniels said.
