Walz ordered non-essential businesses to close because of the pandemic. The operator of the Oakdale theater, Connecticut-based New Vision, let the lease expire in April, according to Todd.Anthony Properties did not re-open it on June 10, when the statewide restrictions on movie theaters were lifted.Todd said a multi-screen theater is not easy to convert into other uses. The stadium-seating floors are sloped, the rooms have no windows, and the ceilings are high.The 20-year-old building has 98,000 square feet, and sits on a 12.5-acre lot.
