A wonderful look at a species that looms large in the imagination. The title of the piece does not do proper justice to the beautiful story the Author tells. Excellent expository quotes, sublime commentary, and splendid sourcing. The historical references provide welcome context. Reads as if a snippet of a lengthy and majestic novel of memory. The included photographs add to the beauty of the story. An absolutely and decidedly worthwhile read. Five stars!

Great Context

Factual and succinct. Inclusion of the term “trophic cascades” could solidify and summarize the rejuvenation of the ecosystem due to the presence of a keystone predator like the wolf.
