Speculation
October 26, 2019
I agree with reviewer Jacob B. that the authors spend too much time discussing President Trump's role in this contract. Although I appreciate it being mentioned for context, the authors attempt to use that Twitter conflict to build up a different story than the one I was attempting to read. This piece didn't properly explain why Microsoft won the contract over Amazon and instead filled the gap in knowledge with speculation over Trump's alleged backroom interference.

This article alleges interference from the White House at several points which are based entirely on speculation based on public commentary. The tone heavily insinuates the author's position on the contract, and news reporting should be as sterile as humanly possible when it comes to opinion and speculation.

An interesting story, but the author tends to mention too much Trump, making too much the author's considerations and making him very biased.
