A balanced look at what is evolving to be a privacy policy-making conundrum, at least at the federal level, which this piece references. Helpful links and excellent expository quotes and commentary. Without bias and a nice summary of where the issues and concerns, in this specific matter, stand. A worthwhile read on all counts.

It's not an in-depth article on the subject, but it's still a good article to learn about how Amazon is managing the development of its facial recognition program. Very interesting, I recommend it.

Without any details of what the proposed legislation would entail, this article nonetheless offers the available facts & context as currently known. Buried a bit is clarification that the headline reference to “facial recognition” is in fact specifically for law enforcement use - a much scarier prospect with potential for significant abuse then the reader would gather if they only read the title & first few paragraphs of the article.

A pretty good investigative look at Amazon's attempt to self-regulate its facial recognition technology. It's a somewhat surface-level piece, but I applaud author Jason Del Rey for covering the story despite the fact that little is known about the particulars of the proposed regulations.
