About half of those testing positive had no symptoms, Tyson said.Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds reported last week that &nbsp;had tested positive for the cornavirus.&nbsp;Nearly 200 of the Storm Lake workers — and about 100 Council Bluffs employees —&nbsp;who tested positive have been through their required quarantines and have returned to work, Tyson said.In both communities, some workers were tested through the public health system or private medical providers, but most were tested at the plants.Tyson said the Storm Lake and Council Bluffs facilities are among&nbsp;40 U.S. plants&nbsp;where the company is rolling out "advanced testing capabilities and enhanced care options on-site to team members.""The company is prioritizing communities with a higher prevalence of COVID-19 and will assess additional needs based on significant risk factors and access to testing," Tyson said in a statement.Tyson said team members who test positive for the coronavirus received paid leave.Meatpacking plants have been hot spots for the coronavirus. About 3,000 workers in Iowa, most working shoulder-to-shoulder, have tested positive for COVID-19.&nbsp;Counties with meatpacking plants led the state with the 10 largest per capita rates for the virus.Buena Vista County, where the Storm Lake plant is located,&nbsp;had 852 positive cases Tuesday, and Pottawattamie County, where Council Bluffs is located,&nbsp;had 273 cases, the Iowa Department of Public Health reported.Several companies have temporarily closed facilities because of coronavirus outbreaks. Tyson closed plants in Columbus Junction, Waterloo, Perry and Storm Lake; JBS closed its beef plant plant in Tama; and across&nbsp;Iowa's borders, JBS temporarily closed a pork processing plant in Worthington, Minnesota, and Smithfield shut down its Sioux Falls, South Dakota, pork plant.Companies said they've beefed up worker safeguards.
