They owned a business across the street, which is now a parking lot,” said Patrenella.Patrenella said the shutdown amid the coronavirus pandemic contributed to his decision to close the restaurant.”We’d been thinking about it since Christmas, but then the virus came along and we had to close. The restaurant business is in terrible shape,” he said.The kitchen at Patrenella's served Sicilian fare including pappardelle, fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti marinara, and eggplant Parmesan.Over the years, famous names including President George H. W. Bush and President George W. Bush dined at the family-run spot.Patrenella said he will put the property up for sale.To the restaurant's friends and customers, Patrenella said, "Thanks for memories. I am going to miss you all.”
