The article explains how Facebook has altered it's algorithm to identify news sources Facebook users "trust", but unlike Tribeworthy, it's an algorithm, not a human being, doing the assessments. Many news outlts outside the mainstream, from Redacted Tonight and the Jimmy Dore Show to more traditional but still non-mainstream sites like OpEdNews, ReaderSupportedNews, In These Times, and Democracy Now! have seen readership and vewership on any number of corporate controlled websites dropping like a stone in water as a result. The story includes pertinent links, appears to be bias-free and provides enough detail to give a limited understanding of the broader issue. Not as detailed as one might want, but hat seldom happens.

This article breaks the news of Facebook's newest variable it will be using to help decide what news content to display in users' News Feeds. The new variable is "trustworthiness" which they determine by polling users about their trust in certain news outlets. Mark Zuckerburg said himself that this is only a small change to the News Feed which is already planning on demoting news content down to 4% in order to leave more room for more engaging content about friends and family.

A good overview of what FB is planning to do, informative, yet concise.
