Well Sourced

An interesting take on and with regard to the headlined proposal. The Author here does a fine job of laying out and making the case. Well-sourced with good expository quotes. The style is urgent but not caterwaulingly whiny. The tone and tenor are reasoned and steady. It is, at base, an opinion piece. Nevertheless, an informed opinion write-up. The Writer, seemingly, goes out of their way to maintain a tight grip on the reins which is commendable. A looser more meandering approach would undercut the proffered proposals. A well-done and worthwhile read. Four stars!

The title hints at it being an Op Ed, the take is holding a position I disagree with. As someone with half my extended family living in Austin, crime is skyrocketing as the police department is further defunded. I would say the examples cited are proof that defunding police with already limited budgets is probably the worst course of action overall. Having said that, this may be the least egregious op ed I have read today, given the context, the bar was admittedly set pretty low.
