(Sean Shanahan)BETHESDA, MD — The Bethesda home once belonging to retired professional boxer Mike Tyson will soon hit the market for $8.5 million.Situated along the sixth hole of the Congressional Country Club's golf course, the stunning 5.3-acre estate is owned by Tyson's ex-wife Monica Turner. The couple married in 1997 — two years after buying the home together. Turner — a pediatrician and the half-sister of former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele — kept the house after they divorced in the early 2000s. The seven-bedroom property spans 19,000 square feet and boasts an outdoor sport court, Olympic-size swimming pool, and media room, according to listing agent Daniel Heider of Heider Real Estate Group."It's deceptively massive," Heider told Patch in an interview. The home, he said, is secured by hand-forged iron gates that bear the letter "T." The automatic gates open up to a rotunda with a bubbling fountain.One of the most unique features of the home: Turner's master closet. Inside, you'll find a conveyor belt for her clothes. Heider says her garbs are organized by designer. The estate wasn't just a home for Turner, Tyson, and their children. For a time, Tyson's 500-plus-pound pet tiger, Kenya, also lived there."One of the coolest things about this... Mike had his white tiger at that house," Heider said, adding that Tyson once lost Kenya at the Congressional Country Club.
