Jackson told police he was a passenger in the semi and even provided a description of a driver, SAPD spokesman Doug Greene said.&nbsp;&nbsp;After taking Jackson in for more questioning, police arrested him.&nbsp;&nbsp;FIND OUT FIRST:&nbsp;&nbsp;Greene said the semi rear-ended a Ford Fiesta at around 6 a.m. on Interstate 10 near Dominion Drive. The driver of the Fiesta, a 46-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident shutdown a portion of I-10 for several hours while police investigated.&nbsp;&nbsp;“This is very sad; we don’t know why he didn’t stop to help,” Greene said while speaking to media after the truck was found.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;After the accident, police asked the public to be on the look out for an 18-wheeler with front end damage.&nbsp;Almost two hours later, a civilian called 911 saying they had seen a damaged semi parked next to a lot near the intersection of Crockett and Bowie streets in downtown. Jackson made it nearly 20 miles before a blown tire forced him to park the truck, according to police.&nbsp;&nbsp;When police arrived, they found the semi with its front bumper torn off and with pieces of the Fiesta caught under the cab.&nbsp;&nbsp;Jackson initially told officers he was asleep in the cab and didn’t know what had happened until after the accident, Greene said. Police said Jackson gave them a description of a driver, saying he was wearing a burgundy shirt and black pants and is about 6-foot 2-inches with short dreadlocks.&nbsp;SAPD searched the area with its EAGLE helicopter and was looking at surveillance video nearby in an attempt to find the man Jackson described.&nbsp;&nbsp;The California-based trucking company the semi belongs to has also been cooperating, Greene said.
