This article reads like an opinion piece, and author Steve Kovach has clearly picked a side in the debate. It's clear that Facebook does not want to be classified as a media company because it would open them up to regulation in the U.S. and abroad. I think the situation is more nuanced because there has never been a platform like Facebook, which merges technology and media distribution. My conclusion is that it's wrong to say that Facebook is only a media company, but it's also wrong for Facebook to continue denying that they are in many ways a media company.

A pretty blatant opinion piece. Argues about the definition of a media company and gears that definition toward what it thinks Facebook is.

Author Steve Kovach has a strong, one-sided opinion against Facebook, lacks reliable sources to back up his argument, and speculates for the entire last paragraph.
