Jon Schwarz may have just escaped by the skin of his teeth with this article. Largely an ad hominem attack on both the Washington Post and its deputy editorial page editor Jackson Diehl, Jon retains some credibility by backing up most of his claims with sufficient sourcing. The two points that bothered me the most were the opening sentence, "NO NORMAL HUMAN being should ever have to read the Washington Post’s op-eds" and Jon's second point, "Jackson Diehl’s title obscures his importance at the Post’s editorial page." While I agree that op-eds, not just Washington Post, are usually sensationalized or not well thought out, I certainly don't agree that someone's status depicts their value. I'd like to read and review another article by Jon Schwarz... he may not be as lucky next time.

Yes the person who wrote the opinion piece is an important editor, but that doesn't mean he can't state his opinion where it is meant to be expressed. It feels like it's trying to undermine the whole paper, and while it's important to hold the media accountable, there seems to be a strong bias behind this article.
