Article is balanced and impartial, thanks to the author's effort to give the most objective analysis of the situation. The main reference is an interview, and it provides enough information to make it a trustworthy article.

The article appears factual. I rate it as somewhat newsworthy because this is a drop in the fiscal budget and could easily divert attention from the real dangers posed by the administration which center around policy and temperament to govern. Still, the truth needs to be told and we need to know.

Most of the content is based on an interview with a very authoritative source, the Director of the Secret Service. No reason to think there are any ulterior motives here except to find a way to get more Secret Service personnel and to pay the ones that are already working overtime.

There may be a slight bias as there is only one brief comparison of the Trump' s family usage of the Secret Service to previous first families. That being said the costs quoted here are relevant and come from a direct source, and these data point to some level of abuse of the Secret Service's mission. The writer does not take an attacking position but let's the facts speak for themselves. There does not appear to be partisan bias save for the previously mentioned lack of past expenditures.

Although this article could easily be seen as a hit piece or stacking the deck, I feel author Kevin Johnson did his best to remain impartial and true to the facts. This could have easily become a politically charged article, but instead I found it to be an insightful piece about the Secret Service and their longterm budgeting difficulties.

Interesting article. The author brought in several different sources to support his statements, but he could have been more persuasive with numbers. Bringing in specific salary rates that are trying to be increase was good, but I want to know what the SS's overall budget is, by how much has it been depleted, and where it has been depleted. Trustworthy, unbiased, supported, but it gets a B-.

Balanced article. Unbiased. Something I certainly wouldn't think about with regards to a budget, so it is interesting in that regard.
Not sure I would consider this to be a front page news story though.

Author Kevin Johnson provided detailed information and supporting links (which check out, although almost all re-reference USA Today) regarding the current budget and expenditures of Secret Service. There is no detectable bias or mistakes in the information presented.

This article provides an interesting view into the secret service budget and workings. This article is surprisingly neutral while discussing why the secret service budget is spread so thing currently.
